How do I know if I need a panel upgrade?
If you have a Zinsco or Federal Pacific panel, 100 amp or smaller service, breakers that trip often, or you're adding an EV charger, heat pump or battery, you likely need one. We'll do a load calculation and tell you honestly.
Are Zinsco and Federal Pacific panels dangerous?
Both brands have documented problems with breakers that fail to trip under overload. We recommend replacing them rather than repairing them.
Will my power be off during a panel upgrade?
Yes, for part of the job. The utility disconnects and reconnects the service, and we schedule around that so you know the window in advance.
Do you pull the permit?
Yes. Every panel and service upgrade is permitted and inspected.
